Hi, I’m Marion 👋

I’m the illustrator and founder behind Just Cool Design. A one-woman studio creating colorful illustration art prints and quirky cards designed to make people smile.

All the work you see here is original and illustrated by me, from the first sketch to the final artwork. No external artists, no big studio — just one creative mind, lots of color, and a love for playful, joyful design.

How I got here

For me, painting feels like meditating — like stepping into a parallel universe filled with rainbows, crazy cats, ramen noodles and giant birthday cakes. I absolutely love it.

I grew up with two strong influences:

an artist mother, and a German engineer father.

Creativity on one side, rational thinking on the other.

To keep both happy (and pay my bills), I studied graphic design and spent many years working as an art director in advertising agencies, collaborating with brands like BMW, adidas and Coca-Cola, and winning international awards along the way.

Until one day, I decided to throw it all up in the air and start again — this time as an illustrator.

My father? Still pulling his hair out over his “crazy” daughter.

Today, Just Cool Design is both my creative practice and my small business, based in Barcelona, Spain.

All prints and cards are printed one by one in my studio using archival giclée quality, and sold to independent shops around the world.

I feel incredibly grateful every time my work finds a place on someone’s wall, shelf or gift table.

One of my favorite moments?
A customer once bought my “I love you so much” print for her daughter — because she found it hard to say those words out loud. Being part of moments like that is an absolute honor.

How I work

I see myself as a visual communicator rather than a traditional artist.

My illustrations often start with a simple phrase, thought or feeling, and then grow intuitively from there.

I work digitally, experimenting freely with color, typography and composition — no rules, no gravity, no perspective if I don’t feel like it. Just contrast, texture and emotion.

My goal is simple:
to create images that make you stop scrolling, smile, and think “yeah — that’s me.”

A few personal things

I live with my kids and a very sweet (but slightly pudgy) cat who takes her naps very seriously.

Coffee fuels me. Love keeps my toes warm.
Billie Holiday gives me goosebumps.

And chocolate… well, let’s not mess with chocolate.
